Abstract In this paper, a numerical strategy based on the combination of kriging approach and Polynomial Chaos Expansion (PCE) is proposed for prediction buckling loads due to random geometric imperfections fluctuations in material properties mechanical system. Modal Analysis of Structures with Uncertainties using Polynomial Chaos Expansion
Engineering structures are complex and structural uncertainties are generated from variability in the material or geometric properties, or in the manufacturing and assembly process. Such variations generate differences in the dynamic responses of the structures across an ensemble of nominally identical systems, for example, vehicles off the production line. This work describes the theory and ap...

15 صفحه اولA new surrogate modeling technique combining Kriging and polynomial chaos expansions - Application to uncertainty analysis in computational dosimetry
In numerical dosimetry, the recent advances in high performance computing led to a strong reduction of the required computational time to assess the specific absorption rate (SAR) characterizing the human exposure to electromagnetic waves. However, this procedure remains time-consuming and a single simulation can request several hours. As a consequence, the influence of uncertain input paramete...
متن کاملAdaptive sparse polynomial chaos expansion based on least angle regression
Polynomial chaos (PC) expansions are used in stochastic finite element analysis to represent the random model response by a set of coefficients in a suitable (so-called polynomial chaos) basis. The number of terms to be computed grows dramatically with the size of the input random vector, which makes the computational cost of classical solution schemes (may it be intrusive (i.e. of Galerkin typ...
متن کاملA polynomial chaos-based kalman filter approach for parameter estimation of mechanical systems
In this study, a new computational approach for parameter identification is proposed based on the application of the polynomial chaos theory. The polynomial chaos method has been shown to be considerably more efficient than Monte Carlo in the simulation of systems with a small number of uncertain parameters. In the new approach presented in this paper, the maxi...
